Western Invitation

Image
I have a daughter that loves horses. Most years her birthday party revolves around a horse theme. This year she's turning 10 and she wanted a horse themed party. I thought a western theme with a few horses at the party would work out great! So now I have to design an invitation for it. What do you think? I printed out most of the information and then used a retired Stampin' Up! stamp set that I LOVE so much! It's called Wanted. The colors I used for the stamped parts are Baja Breeze and Tempting Turquoise. I hope you like it. If you are interested in me making your invitations email me. I have a $25 set up fee and then each invitation is $2. Thanks for looking! Jackie

Shrinky Dink Charms

Image
I'm doing a class on how to make these on Tuesday and Wednesday. I hope you can come. I learned how to make charms a while ago but I saw a blog where someone made mason jar charms and thought, "Stampin' Up! has a die to cut out the stamp of a mason jar. Easy to make lots of these without cutting out with scissors." Use StazOn ink and the mason jar stamp on the rough side of the Shrink a dink paper. After you color it in you'll use the framelets to "punch" it out.  Then you'll use a heat tool to "shrink" the charms. Easy and fun. Make sure you come to my class on Tuesday or Wednesday for more hands on instructions. You can do other shapes and images too. The sky's the limit. Happy Stampin', Jackie

Christmas ornament

Image
I've been busy making some of the paper ornaments to sell at a Craft Fair coming up. What do you think of this one? I also made this one for my favorite SEC team. Following the layout of a card I liked in a magazine I decided to make this card. My husband thinks it's not Christmasy enough. What do you think? I like it. I think sometimes we all get stuck on red and green for Christmas but really we can do whatever colors we like. I like these colors. Crumb Cake, Baja Breeze (my daughter said, "ba ja") and Whisper White. Easy. Okay, that's it for today. Talk to you soon. Jackie

Click the link below. Talking Tags Let me know if you want to try this out. I'll be buying a sheet of the tags so I can try it out. Talk to you soon.

Warm Winter Wishes

Hello everyone. I'm happy to share this weeks marker club technique with you. The spritzer tool. This tool is designed to be used with Stampin' Up! markers. Making splatters, spots, and other effects is easy and quick. Here's the card we made on Sunday. The splatters are made with soft suede. I used the stamp set By The Seashore. I also used Crumb Cake cardstock and Very Vanilla. If you have any questions let me know. We just started to do swaps at this club. What's a swap? It's a card that you made and then you trade with the other club members for the cards they made. Here's my swap: Using the spritzing tool to make the splatters. I also used the tree from the stamp set Evergreen. Visit my website to learn how to order directly from me or you can attend one of my classes and learn more about stamping techniques. www.jackiebarfield.stampinup.net Thanks for looking. Jackie

Party Favors

Image
So it's your turn to host Thanksgiving this year. Great! You'll have to clean the house, cook a turkey, make a pie and do a little something special for each guest. How about handmade favors using the Fancy Favor Box die. This box is so fast and easy to make. I spent more time making up the front embellishments than I did putting together the box. I also include some other designs for making gifts for Christmas. A cute little box that holds a chocolate. Birgit gave me one similar to this and I followed the template and made a Christmas one. Of course the gorgeous ornament that's on the cover of the Mini Catalog makes an amazing embellishment to any gift and they can hang it on their tree too.   I hope you can come to my Nov. 3 class on Christmas projects. It will be fun and lots of great ideas you can duplicate at home. Take care and God Bless! Jackie

Thanksgiving cards

Image
This card was made at my Marker Club. I showed the ladies how to color and blend using markers and a blender pen. I think I'll make some more and sell them at the craft fair I'm doing on November 10th. These were really fun to make. Stamp set: Full of Blessings   Hope you are having a blessed day!   Jackie

Holiday Ornament in Blue

Image
Here's my version of the Holiday Mini Catalog Ornament. Do you like the colors?     Midnight Muse, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla   Do you want to learn how to make this ornament? Come to my Christmas Projects Class on November 3rd. 1-6pm. Email me or call to RSVP. I may make more of these since it was so easy! I used the silicon pad and hot glue. Makes this quick and easy to put together. I hope you can join me soon! Jackie

Christmas tags

Image
Oh I was inspired by something I saw on Pintrest today and so here is what I made: If you like this tag we will be making it at my Christmas Projects class on November 3rd. Haven't signed up yet? You can do so on my website under events. Here are some other fun projects I've been doing recently. This is my first ever easel card. I liked the swirls on the background. I used several different sets and a retired wheel. Those google eyes work great! They fit perfectly into the eyes of the bat. Here's another Halloween project I did a while back but just got them laminated. (Thanks Flora!) I made 22 cards (two are the same). This is for my girl scout troop to play at our Halloween party. Yes I stamped each card by hand using markers. Crazy huh? It only took a couple hours and after laminating them I'll be able to use them year after year. Stamp set: Spooky Bingo Bits I hope you enjoyed todays projects. Come back again! Jackie

Christmas Projects

Image
Hello again, I've been busy with Girl Scouts lately but today I was able to finish a few projects that I'm offering at the November 3rd class. Here's some of the things you'll be able to make:   Plus we'll have the ornament to make that's on the cover of the Mini Catalog. Oh and Laura and Diane are also having some projects for you to pick from.   There will also be a tags class. TO and From tags so you can make special tags from Santa.   I hope you can make it! Please go to my events page and RSVP. Thanks!

Happy National Card Making Day!

Image
I did in fact make some cards today. Thank you cards for the businesses that donated food, door prizes and more to the first Girl Scout Convention for our area. Here's a picture of them while I was putting them together. I used mostly Stampin' Up! supplies for this. The Girl Scout Logo is online and the paper is from the Girl Scouts too. Punches are from SU!. As a Girl Scout leader I do a lot of fun crafts with my troop. Today I was able to share what I do best (crafting) with new leaders and help them learn about SWAPS, earning badges through art, making special gifts on a budget. Not that I really know how to budget but I do try to be frugal with my supplies and use up what I have and not have to buy too much. Each of the leaders in my class today got to make a swap using the butterfly punch and then add a few beads. Really easy. I also let them use some stamps, markers and blender pens to make a card. Talking to these wonderful ladies about Girl Scouts was am

MDS2 Amazing!

Image
Wow! Just upgraded to MDS2 and I'm sooooooo happy! This program lets me paint on the stamps and create multi-colors on it. Here's alittle sample I made using that feature.  What do you think? In MDS you would only have these images in one color. Now it lets you have a paint brush to color in all the images. You can pick the size of the tip of the brush too. Amazing! Today is the last day to get 31% off on digital downloads so hurry and get them! Visit my online store and set up a user account. You can download right from the website. Easy! Hope you are having a blessed day!

Hurricane Isaac

Image
Okay so I survived the Hurricane. The reason was because I stayed calm. LOL. I love this Hostess set. Keep Calm and Stamp On. So true. Of course the hurricane drink doesn't hurt either. I do have to say that my family in New Orleans survived but have been dealing with power outages and now their fishing camp has some damage they found out. My thoughts and prayers go out to the people of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. I've seen pictures of houses completely underwater. So tragic. Let's do what we can to help others in any small way. Especially through prayer.

Back to School and back to stamping

Image
This week my two girls started back at school. They love their teachers and they are so excited about learning. They were lucky enough to get teachers that are certified in the AMSTI. That's a new Alabama initiative that teaches by interaction in groups and having children think through answers instead of memorizing facts. I really love it and every day my girls have told me how their teacher's do amazing experiments for them. I love it! Of course I had to make new hair clips for them. Jessica wanted a new one using a butterfly and that was navy blue and khaki. I used Island Indigo and Crumb Cake. So with the girls back to school this week I was able to do a little crafting. Here's a few fun things I've made lately: This wreath is going to go on the front door. I need to find some numbers to put on it for my address. Hopefully I will find some soon. If not I will make some out of chipboard. Here's what I used: Cherry Cobbler Tulle, Crumb Cake Tul

Here's the cards I sent to Girl Scout Camp

Image
I had to make special cards for my girls when they went away to camp last month. Writing the letters was the tough part. Making cute cards took only minutes. LOL. I hope you like them. I really like using Summer Starfruit. It's a beautiful color. It really works well with other colors too. I gotta get to bed but thought I should update my blog. LOL. Take care and God bless!

Free Stamps!!!

I'm so excited because this is the first year that I'm close enough to earn the incentive trip. As a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator I'm able to earn free stamps and make money but I'm also able to earn points towards an incentive trip each year. This year the trip is to Hilton Head, SC. Wow! That would be such a nice trip and I hear there are pillow gifts every night of your stay. I so want to get those! So in order to reach my goal I need a little bit more in sales. Since I don't want to just ask people for orders without giving them something I've decided to give away FREE STAMPS! Here's how it works: You order from me from the new Catalog by June 30th. Your total before tax and shipping is what you can use to get stamps from the list below. If you order $100 you can pick $100 in Free stamps. Easy! If you are far away I can mail your free stamps to you for free as well.   Click here for the online catalog. Here's what you can pick from: Polka

Girl Scout Camp

Image
Last week was a milestone. My two girls went away to camp without me. Of course I had to make them cute little packages, cards and a journal to write all their adventures in. I used Stampin' Up! Crumb Cake envelopes and cut some cardstock to make these journals. The envelopes provided pockets for fun things they collected. I also provided them some ideas for using the journal. I used packing paper to make little "cards" to insert into the envelopes. They could do leaf rubbings on them or draw a picture. I was sure they would be able to do this in their free time. LOL. I also left some pages for them to write about their horse since it was a horse riding camp. Notice that I'm using my retired stamp sets. I know that's not fair to you all who want to get these stamps but I have to say that even as a demonstrator I do use my favorite stamps for fun projects for my girls, scrapbooks, etc. Never get rid of your favorites. So I spent some ti
