Inspiration from God

Have you ever read something that so touched your soul that you wanted to share it with everyone? I recently read a blog post from a friend that really touched my soul and made me want to share it with you all. You can read it here: www.childrenoftruth.com/how-will-they-remember-me/ I've been on a journey to get to know God better and in the process I am getting to know myself better too. I realized that I was missing something special in my life. I had thought I could live in a state of mediocre. It wasn't a horrible life but it wasn't a wonderful life either. I was neutral. Lukewarm. The bible says that you should not be lukewarm. Rev. 3:16 So, because you are lukewarm--neither hot nor cold--I am about to spit you out of my mouth.  God says it's better to be hot or cold. Staying lukewarm is worse. I have realized a great thing. I have been complacent in my life. I have not cried out to God and asked for help with my life. I have just filled it with busy things.

Easy card to make

Image
Here's a really easy card to make even though it looks hard to do. If you need directions on how to make it let me know. The cool part is that you just need to score one piece of cardstock and it flips as you pull it.

I'm still here

Image
Hey everyone, It's been a while since I last updated my blog. I have been busy enjoying my summer with the girls and my hubby. We just started putting in a pool and it's a mess in the yard now. I can't wait until it's all finished and we can enjoy swimming in our own pool. Pool Party!!! I guess I'll have to make decorations using Stampin' Up! Pool Party Cardstock. LOL. I also got a new car recently. It's my first Subaru. I think it's going to be with me a long time. My last I drove for 14 years. Yep. I keep cars a long time. I don't drive much though. About 10,000 a year. I've also been busy with my turtles in the backyard. I'm also trying to redo my girls bedrooms. Painting is done but I need to hang artwork and make some new throw pillows. I will post pics when they are done. Hope you are enjoying your summer. Love, Jackie

Mini Scrapbook using Best Year Ever Designer Paper

Image
So a while back my friend Martha showed me an amazing book created by her friend's daughter, Julie. This book was all made from scratch using cardstock, designer paper and scor tape. So Martha wanted to learn how to make this book. I took a look at it and really wasn't sure how it was made. I knew it was made with love and lots of attention to detail. A few month's later Martha calls me up to say that Julie is in town and would be willing to teach us how to make the scrapbook. I said I would be there. I wanted to see the details of how the book came together and how the pages were put together. They have pockets and belly bands and all kinds of neat extra flaps. So I went to Martha's house and we all learned how to make this book. I started it off with just using my Fast Fuse tape, Best Year Ever Designer Paper from the Sale-a-bration catalog and Soft Suede Cardstock. The key is to make sure you measure the pages right. Plus you need to score it right too. A bone

Dirty Laundry

Image
Actually it's clean laundry but most people wouldn't dare show their messy house. This is the spare bedroom and it acts as a holding area for clean clothes, sheets, towels, etc. Most days you can see naked people running to this room. Normally there's always clothes on the bed but this pile seemed higher than usual. I guess it's because I've been so busy lately. I've just gotten back from Leadership Convention, I've had two Girl Scout cookie booth sales, I've gone to a Mardi Gras Ball and a Mardi Gras parade, plus I've had a team meeting and my hostess club this weekend. Believe it or not I did get the laundry put away finally. But of course someone had to get more clothes dirty and I had to wash them and now there are clothes back on the bed. Why can't we live in a nudist colony??? I suppose I would be too cold if I did. So here's a card for you to see from my hostess club. It's embossing resist. I used the new saleabrati

Expect Great Things

Image
Saw this on facebook but had to share it here. I expect great things to happen every day. Don't you? I hope you like this little cutie. It's time to revisit your goals for 2015 and see where you are at. Did you want to send birthday cards out on time? Did you want to finish your scrapbook of Disney? Did you want to lose 10 pounds or more? If you didn't write it down, now is a good time to do that. Write it where you can see it and look at your goals everyday. Make sure you see it and think about it and pray about it. You can do it when you expect to do it. Here's a card that I made for a swap at Leadership: I love how each day can become a new adventure. Let's start our journey and expect wonderful things to happen. Blessings, Jackie

Valentine's for my sweet girls

Image
Okay so my two darling daughters need Valentine's right? I have made a bunch of cards lately and most of the ideas I get from Pinterest. So these two are from cards I saw and did a little tweaking. I hope you like them. I enjoyed making them. It's fun to try to make the cards I see online. Maybe you can get inspired by these two cards and make your own. Feel free to email me a picture of what you make. Can you guess what stamps I used? You might be surprised by the swirled pink on the bottom one.
