Mini Scrapbook using Best Year Ever Designer Paper

Image
So a while back my friend Martha showed me an amazing book created by her friend's daughter, Julie. This book was all made from scratch using cardstock, designer paper and scor tape. So Martha wanted to learn how to make this book. I took a look at it and really wasn't sure how it was made. I knew it was made with love and lots of attention to detail. A few month's later Martha calls me up to say that Julie is in town and would be willing to teach us how to make the scrapbook. I said I would be there. I wanted to see the details of how the book came together and how the pages were put together. They have pockets and belly bands and all kinds of neat extra flaps. So I went to Martha's house and we all learned how to make this book. I started it off with just using my Fast Fuse tape, Best Year Ever Designer Paper from the Sale-a-bration catalog and Soft Suede Cardstock. The key is to make sure you measure the pages right. Plus you need to score it right too. A bone ...

Bible Journaling

Image
Recently I was invited to join an online bible journaling group. They are amazing artists creating beautiful art in their bibles or journals. This really appealed to me so I started to do a bit of art myself.   I am using Stampin' Up!s This and That Journal instead of my bible (I just can't do that yet). I usually get inspired by a verse from the bible that I have read on Facebook. Then I use my stamps, inks, markers, stickers, etc. to create a page in my journal. While making the page I read the passage several times and think about what it means to me.   God works in our lives and encourages us to follow our dreams. I enjoy making cards, crafting and scrapbooking. Here's a huge sign from God saying that I'm doing what I should be. My church asked me to make up a scrapbook for a special person who was retiring from our church. She let me do pretty much whatever I wanted to do. Here's the cover of the scrapbook I made:   She loved it and I'm s...

Project Life meets Stampin' Up!

Image
I've been wanting to use this product since I saw it in stores but because of being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator I usually don't buy products I can't sell. Luckily I can now buy and sell Project Life! Stampin' Up! has 5 new kits that will make scrapbooking so easy and quick. I made four pages in an hour. Take a look: I don't know about you but for me that's a record. I really liked looking for the cards that matched paper I already had. The pictures are from Meet the Teacher day and First day of school. I can envision my child's school year in an album now. I think this will make my life so much easier and less stressful too. I usually take hours to make one page. With this I just slide the pictures into the pockets and then add a few embellishments along with a journal card. Easy. Fast. Plus I think they turned out great! Oh I don't know if you noticed but I did stamp on some of the paper. I have to include stamping. That's the ...

Fun with MDS

Image
I don't normally make scrapbook pages with the Digital Software but I just downloaded a few new things and played around with it. These two pages are already designed for me to drop pictures in. I think the pictures go great in these layouts. Took me 10 minutes to figure out which pictures to use. That's it. Then I can have them printed by my favorite photo place or use Stampin' Up!'s print feature. Designer Kit/A Split Second in MDS. Here's some more ideas using this download: click here To order the download you can click here . It's $2.95. Thanks for looking and have a blessed day!

scrapbook retreat was awesome

Image
This past weekend I went to Destin to scrapbook. I love scrapbooking but don't get to do it very often. (Maybe twice a year). So this was my chance to work on the family vacation album. We went to Orlando and visited all the fun parks they have including SeaWorld and Epcot. Here's a few pages I did: Here's the view from the condo. I think I could have stayed on the balcony all day. It was beautiful weather too. 70 and sunny. If you want to learn more about this retreat visit their website here . I hope you have a great day! I am busy doing laundry and unpacking. LOL.

Artisan Embellishments are perfect for any project

Image
I saw this kit in the mini catalog and thought it would be perfect for scrapbooking. Of course the first thing I use it on is a card. LOL. I guess I can't help it. Card making is in my blood now. I like how the pool party button goes with the new ribbon from the sale-a-bration catalog. Buttons are great for embellishing cards and scrapbooks. But did you see those doilies? Especially the heart shaped one. Plus there's cute die cut "tags" and tickets you can use. Everything coordinates with Stampin' Up! colors. The card above is made with Natural Composition Specialty Paper. I used some bleach to lighten up the flowers. The paper is already embossed so all you need to do is pick part of the paper you like, bleach it and attach it to the card. Easy. Stamp set: Oh Hello      130733  Clear   18.95 Ink:    So Saffron, Early Espresso markers: Primrose Petals, Lucky Limeade Paper: Very Vanilla, Crumb cake and Natural Com...

Scrapbooking with Stampin' Up!

Image
A lot of times I'm told that Stampin' Up! doesn't have what they want for scrapbooking. I say that Stampin' Up! is perfect for Scrapbookers! Look at these samples I saw at Leadership. Most of them are using the new kit in the Mini catalog that's only $9.95. Click here to see the kit. I especially love stamp sets with names of family members or even alphabet stamp sets. You can create titles that are interesting and unique. Plus with our papers, cardstock, inks and accessories you can embellish without having to spend extra time searching for matching colors. Stampin' Up! does it for you! Have a great day! Jackie
