Snow in LA

Image
Lower Alabama that is. This is NOT normal! Check out my girls and the snow/ice that fell all over the place.   Snow! Trying to make a snow angel.   That's not cotton! My girls made snowballs and put them on the bushes.   Here's my cutie showing off the Burlap Wreath that I'll be doing a class on. Check my events to see when it is.   Busy planning my Open House for tomorrow. Sorry I didn't do a Tuesday messy desk post. The snow and the crazy days with kids home made it hard to get anything done. I promise to get them posted next week.   Hope you are staying dry and warm.     Thanks for looking.

Photos in cards

Image
I am so excited to show you this card. I made it out of the scraps on my desk. I had to use one of my sponged "mess ups" so it wouldn't go to waste. But it was kinda plain so I stamped on it and added a photo of my husband and our two girls. Tip: I went into Microsoft Picture manager and played with the color on this photo. I wanted it to look muted and older. Then I printed it out on plain copy paper and cut it out. Here's the card I made. I finally got to try using the stamp set Peach Keen with the Photo Framelits. My downline and friend Kristie helped me figure this one out. Just cut out the camera shape with the framelits, flip it over and stamp the image of the camera on it. Easy! No scissors involved. Another fun embellishment on this card is the wooden arrow. I love that it helps draw your eye to the photo. Maybe I will give this to my hubby to brighten his day. Bringing back a memory from a carefree day. I hope you enjoyed my creation. Come back

Tuesday Messy Desk

Image
Well actually everyday is messy desk day. LOL. But at least with this blog post you'll be able to see me create something out of the mess. I was busy making tonight's card class so this is what's left there to work with for tomorrow's amazing creation! Tonight we are learning to sponge like a pro. This is my monthly supper club and we get together to eat and have fun stamping. I'm excited to show my friends how to do this card below. It's using Soft Sky (a new color they brought back. Yeah!) Crumb Cake, Island Indigo, Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso and the ribbon is Baked Brown Sugar. Oh and the green is Pear Pizazz. I love the new back ground stamp. The look of wood without embossing through the big shot. This is a must for any serious crafter. Endless possibilities. Oh and I love the polaroid framelit! I have to say that I saw this card on facebook and it inspired me to make my own. Not sure how to link to it but I will tell you that Song Of

Here's what I made

Image
I think you will like this card. I used some scraps and other items that were laying on the counter in my craft room. The washi tape has been sitting there for a month! I finally figured out how to use it with a card. I wasn't too sure about the color combo but I think it turned out great. I made the flower with the tissue that came with the add on kit. I had the Eiffel tower already made but wasn't sure about the brown in it so I hadn't used it on anything yet. So today I put it on this card. Let me know if you like it. I think the flower will be a fun project to learn to make at one of my classes. Speaking of which, I have a class on Thursday. It's the exploding Purse Box. I can't wait to show you it. Visit my website to learn more about my upcoming classes. Thanks for looking.

What's on my desk? It's a mess!

Image
Well here it is Tuesday again. I should tell you that I'm excited now when I wake up and it's Tuesday. This means I get to create something out of the mess on my desk. Yep. This mess below: will be transformed into a beautiful card for you all to see tomorrow. So check back and see what I make. In the mean time take a look at the card we made with my Hostess Club: We used the Acetate and Tissue Technique to create this beautiful card. I also used the Valentine Set that came out last month. It's only online (not in a catalog) so check it out here. There's a new deal too this month that you should know about. Paper Pumpkin has a new promotion for new subscribers. When you sign up to receive Paper Pumpkin you'll also get a set of In-Color Markers for free. Here's what I created!

I know you all are just dying to see what I made so here it is. Supplies Used: Bermuda Bay cardstock, Crumb Cake Cardstock, glimmer silver paper, News Print Paper (retired), Early Espresso Co'ordination paper (sanded), Very Vanilla cardstock, Bermuda Bay Ink, Early Espresso Ink, Very Vanilla crochet ribbon, Thinlits die, Postage Due Stamp Set, Banner Blast Stamp Set, Postage Stamp Punch, Banner Punch. Yes all of these things were out and on my crafting tables. I even sponged the edges with Early Espresso Ink because I had a sponge sitting there. I should show you a picture of my desk clean now right? LOL. Hope you enjoyed this post. Leave me a comment if you would like to see this as a weekly post. Have a blessed day.

What's on my crafting table

Image
Well if you want to know what's on my crafting table take a look: This is just a small section of it too. So while I was cleaning up and putting away my crafts I had an idea. What if I showed you what my desk looks like every Wednesday and then on Thursday I show you what I made with the scraps I had on my desk. Sound fun? I think it would make me have more fun while cleaning up. So come back tomorrow and I'll show you what I made using what's on my crafting table. (and I didn't pull any extra paper out I swear!) The reason I had some scraps on my desk was because of this project I made. I think this will be my next card class. (See my events page for more info). I used new designer paper that I got out of the Mini Occasions catalog. It's so pretty. Plus I used a new embossing folder and punch. Makes this card easy to duplicate over and over. You could change it up and use whatever designer paper you have. Just have a coordinating cardstock and ink pad.

My Collection of TURTLES

Image
Hey everyone, Just thought I would share my collection of TURTLES that I get to look at every day. Since I really like turtles and my team's name is Totally Turtles I thought I would post about them. I'm Totally excited about my team. They are so amazing. Many of them are hobby demonstrators who make beautiful cards. Some of them are building a business and growing their own teams. I can't wait to get together with them on February 1st. I even have some team members that live out of state coming to my next meeting. I have a special gift for those who promote. It's a cute turtle coin purse. I make sure to put some goodies inside it too. Our latest winners have been Michelle, Carola and Lydia. Who's next? Can't wait to share some wonderful ideas with all of you. If you aren't a demo yet and would like to join my team let me know. I hold monthly drawings for prizes, send a card to my top ten, do a monthly meeting and have my own incentive trip f

New Year, New Calendar Page

Image
With a new year comes a new calendar. I don't have a lot of room in my office so this cute desk top calendar that Mandy gave me is perfect. She is amazing when it comes to MDS. In fact she is on the design team for Stampin' Up! I'm good for 3 months now. It's great so I can see what dates are on Saturdays. I can see at a glance when my troop meetings are and all the other important dates coming up fall on. So now that it's January I've packed up my Christmas decorations. I had to buy extra boxes for all the new decorations I bought. LOL. How many Christmas boxes do you have? I think I have close to 10. Wow! Yesterday I had my Girl Scout Meeting. We really enjoyed learning about origami, selling cookies and picking a country for World Thinking Day. The girls have a new cookie this year. Cranberry Citrus Crisp. Sounds yummy doesn't it? Here's my sweet troop: They are amazing! All the girls help out and make the meetings fun. Looki
