Tag It - helps to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House

Image
This year's stamp set that helps to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House is called Tag It. It's retiring soon! Every stamp set sold Stampin' Up! gives $3 to the Ronald McDonald House Charity. They have given over $1,000,000 to this charity and I am a big supporter of what the Ronald McDonald House does. This month my Girl Scout Troop decided to help out our local RMH by painting some artwork for them to use in the hallways. We also went there and made dinner for the families staying there. Talking to some of the families we learned about the amazing things that RMH provides. A place to stay that's close to the hospital. A place to wash their clothes, eat meals, use computers, connect with others and feel a sense of comfort and home during their challenging times. Here's the stamp set below: Tag It 130300 Price : $22.95 ...

New Year, New Calendar Page

Image
With a new year comes a new calendar. I don't have a lot of room in my office so this cute desk top calendar that Mandy gave me is perfect. She is amazing when it comes to MDS. In fact she is on the design team for Stampin' Up! I'm good for 3 months now. It's great so I can see what dates are on Saturdays. I can see at a glance when my troop meetings are and all the other important dates coming up fall on. So now that it's January I've packed up my Christmas decorations. I had to buy extra boxes for all the new decorations I bought. LOL. How many Christmas boxes do you have? I think I have close to 10. Wow! Yesterday I had my Girl Scout Meeting. We really enjoyed learning about origami, selling cookies and picking a country for World Thinking Day. The girls have a new cookie this year. Cranberry Citrus Crisp. Sounds yummy doesn't it? Here's my sweet troop: They are amazing! All the girls help out and make the meetings fun. Looki...

Happy National Card Making Day!

Image
I did in fact make some cards today. Thank you cards for the businesses that donated food, door prizes and more to the first Girl Scout Convention for our area. Here's a picture of them while I was putting them together. I used mostly Stampin' Up! supplies for this. The Girl Scout Logo is online and the paper is from the Girl Scouts too. Punches are from SU!. As a Girl Scout leader I do a lot of fun crafts with my troop. Today I was able to share what I do best (crafting) with new leaders and help them learn about SWAPS, earning badges through art, making special gifts on a budget. Not that I really know how to budget but I do try to be frugal with my supplies and use up what I have and not have to buy too much. Each of the leaders in my class today got to make a swap using the butterfly punch and then add a few beads. Really easy. I also let them use some stamps, markers and blender pens to make a card. Talking to these wonderful ladies about Girl Scouts was am...

Girl Scouts Rule!

Image
Oh my gosh! I had the best time yesterday at the Leader Daughter event that the girl scouts put on for us. They booked a room at The Grand Hotel and this place is a resort. It's awesome! A beach on one side and the pool with a water slide on the other. Not to mention all the terrific food that everyone brought. It was a fantastic event and I enjoyed having some R & R with my two girls and the other leaders. We will have to plan more of these events I think. Here's a group shot of all the leaders and their daughters. Yes it's a big group. LOL. Just imagine the whole troop being involved. We number in the hundreds. I told you I would get to the tutorial and here it is. Start by punching out the scallop square. Then you use two way glue pen on some copy paper. If you wait until the glue turns from blue to clear then the glue is temporary instead of permanent. Put the scallop square on the glue and then line it up in the punch again to the size you want. I made i...
