Wood you be mine?

Image
I have just started to play with this manly lumberjack stamp set. He's perfect for Valentine's Day. Here's the colors I came up with for the shirt. Which one do you like? Top to bottom: Cajun Craze, Crumb Cake Crushed Curry, Marina Mist, Lost Lagoon, Real Red, Pear Pizzazz So far I'm liking the Marina Mist best. Here's the card I made for my hubby.   Stamp Set: Wood you be mine? 137134 Paper: Early Espresso CS, Whisper White CS, Adventure Bound DSP stack 137780 Ribbon and twine from Stampin' Up! I even decorated the envelope. Woo hoo. I'm getting fancy. LOL. I hope you enjoyed stopping by. Leave a message for me. Jackie

Team Projects

We did these projects last month. I love how the blendabilities look with this stamp set.   The pages in the DSP stack are perfect for making sour cream containers. I used the sweetheart punch then a circle punch to get the negative space then punched out a heart to put underneath it in the DSP. And layered it on top of the ever popular scallop circle. I cut my dimensionals so they wouldn't show. Last but not least was the Lotus Blossom stamp set from Sale-a-bration and the scallop tag punch. A simple way to show your customers that you care. Can be used as a book mark or added to a card front. Colors I used were Blushing Bride and Rose Red. Stamp off once to get the lightest color in Blushing Bride.   My team met this last Saturday and we had fun making treat bags with the new framelits and also made cards from the kit Hooray It's Your Day. Did you know that this kit makes 20 cards. It includes 2 reusable masks, wood stars and words, two sp...

Perfect Peacock for my Perfect Friend

Image
Saying goodbye is hard to do. I have had to say goodbye to too many people lately. Friends keep moving away. It's especially hard when that person has touched your life in such a positive way. Through my Stampin' Up! business I have had the added blessing of meeting some special ladies. Many come into my life and shower me and my girls with beautiful cards and treats and boxes. They have inspired me and made my girls feel spoiled. They are like second aunts or even grandmas. Recently one of these special ladies told me she was moving. I probably still haven't had reality hit me yet but I know when it does it will be hard. I have assurances that we will keep in touch and that we may figure out Skype. (I need to hook up my video camera to my computer). Yesterday I gave her this card. She loved it and I'm so glad because it's hard to impress other crafters. I used the Perfect Peacock stamp set (133830) wood 14.95 and colored it with blendabilities. You know t...

Water Color like a pro

Image
This week my class was on watercoloring. I know it's frustrating to figure out the best method for making your cards and scrapbooks look like a water color painting. Here's some basics that you should know about. Aqua painters give a more watery look. Colors are more muted and transparent. Blender Pens give the most depth of color but can be tricky to learn to use. Plus you have to keep dipping your blender pen in the ink well. Regular markers can give quick color but it's not blended very well. New Blendabilities offer a lot of depth, can be corrected with the color lifter and blending is easy. Here's the card we made. I used four colors in the Blendabilities to make the flowers. I first went in with the lightest yellow for the centers, then a dark purple on the edges, followed by the light purple next to that. Finally I used a medium yellow to blend it all together. Awesome! Here's three flowers done three different ways: The one on the right...

Sneak Peak on new Stampin' Up! products

Image
It's getting closer to the new release of Stampin' Up!s new catalog. As a demonstrator I can pre order all the goodies a month before anyone else. Check out what came to my house. I am holding a drawing this month for those that place a $25 order with me. The drawing is to get a free set of Blendabilities (3 markers in light, medium and dark) in your choice of color family. You can get extra entries by coming to my classes this month. Also if you bring a friend you get 3 extra entries. So I hope you can come. I will demonstrate the new markers at my class. They make coloring so easy. Thanks for looking.

Blendabilities and water coloring

Image
I have been able to get the new Blendabilities before they are available to customers and I have to say I love them! Using markers and aqua painters has worked for me to water color images. I love the look of watercolor and enjoy shading and creating depth on my projects. Since I got the blendabilities I am so thrilled with how easy it is to create this depth and shading with just three markers and going over the project until I'm happy with how it looks. Here's something I did using the different colors and the Poppy background stamp. I found a blog that describes the new markers much better than I could have so please go visit Linda Heller's blog. I have a class coming up on Tuesday and I will show how you can watercolor like a pro so I hope you can come.
