They say a picture is worth a thousand words but what about a video? LOL. Here's Karen showing how to use the new dies from the Spring Catalog along with the stamp set All Dressed Up. Page 32. Visit her blog to see more samples. The Queen of Hearts is to die for.  Have a great day! Jackie

Easy Valentine Treats

Image
I really love this time of year. Love is in the air and there's so many fun ideas to try with making Valentine's. My girls and I make our Valentines every year and their classes are quite big. So whatever it is we make has to be EASY. I came up with this cute treat holder. This "box" is made with the two tags die 115954 21.95. You can even fold the cardstock in half and make two tags at once. I wouldn't do more than two layers since there's a score line and the thickness can make it cut instead of score. Adhere the two tags together like this: I used snail because it's quicker and it's for kids at school. (They may not keep this cute box forever. LOL).  But you could use sticky strip for a better hold. Next you stamp the whale with Pool Party Ink, cut it out with the clearlet, draw cute eyelashes and a mouth, then add a bow with our bakers twine. I did sponge a little on the box and whale image. How do you store your spon...

Masking Technique using By The Tide

Image
Here's a step by step on making the By The Tide card. By The Tide stamp set: 129120 Start with two post it notes and tear them in half. Attach them to the base (4" x 5 1/4") Get all your stamps attached to the clear blocks. This saves you time later when you are stamping a bunch of these cards so you don't have to keep attaching and removing them from one block. I love Stampin' Up! Ink Pads!!!  Make sure you start with the lightest color first just in case the color doesn't dry before you stamp the next image.  Leave your stamps on top of the ink pad so they are ready to use again and you won't get confused about which image is stamped with which color. I hate it when I accidentally stamp a dark color on a light color ink pad. Not pretty.  After all the images are stamped you are ready for the next part. SPONGING! If you have been to one of my classes you know you will be sponging and you will ...

MDS and personalized Thank You cards

Image
Do you love to do traditional hand stamped cards? Do you like making 50 of them? Well I like creating a card to send to friends and family but I don't always like to make a bunch of the same card. MDS makes it really easy for me to design a beautiful card that I can customize for the individual easily. I can also add some traditional stamping after printing it if I want. Here's the MDS card I made for a thank you card to Amanda's Birthday. (Not sent yet). LOL. My plan is to put a picture of each child in the box so they'll have a picture of themselves from the party. I downloaded this awesome chalkboard paper with cute scrolls and designs in it. I also had this neat looking tape accessory that went nicely with the theme. MDS can change any photo to sepia so this was actually a full color photo I took. If you think you might want to try MDS there's a free 30 day trial on the website. www.mydigitalstudio.net Make sure you pick me as your demonstrator. ...

Artisan Embellishments are perfect for any project

Image
I saw this kit in the mini catalog and thought it would be perfect for scrapbooking. Of course the first thing I use it on is a card. LOL. I guess I can't help it. Card making is in my blood now. I like how the pool party button goes with the new ribbon from the sale-a-bration catalog. Buttons are great for embellishing cards and scrapbooks. But did you see those doilies? Especially the heart shaped one. Plus there's cute die cut "tags" and tickets you can use. Everything coordinates with Stampin' Up! colors. The card above is made with Natural Composition Specialty Paper. I used some bleach to lighten up the flowers. The paper is already embossed so all you need to do is pick part of the paper you like, bleach it and attach it to the card. Easy. Stamp set: Oh Hello      130733  Clear   18.95 Ink:    So Saffron, Early Espresso markers: Primrose Petals, Lucky Limeade Paper: Very Vanilla, Crumb cake and Natural Com...
