Tie Dye Technique is fun to do

Image
Here's a quick video of me doing the tie dye technique. I hope you like it. I had to hold the phone and "paint" the alcohol at the same time. I'm also entering the card I made in the SUO Challenge . Visit their website to see all the awesome projects that people post. I used Pacific Point and Coastal Cabana ink on Whisper White cardstock. Make sure you really ink up the paper. The darker the better. You can apply it however you want but for this one I put the lighter color in the centers and darker color around them.   Poor some rubbing alcohol in a bowl and use a paint brush to apply alcohol to your cardstock. Trace around the circles and add drops and dabs here and there. Watch the video to see how I did this.   Here's what it looks like when it's done. Then you can create a card with the finished piece.    I also did a few different ones. Take a look.   I made these two cards. I think they turned out cu

Project Life meets Stampin' Up!

Image
I've been wanting to use this product since I saw it in stores but because of being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator I usually don't buy products I can't sell. Luckily I can now buy and sell Project Life! Stampin' Up! has 5 new kits that will make scrapbooking so easy and quick. I made four pages in an hour. Take a look: I don't know about you but for me that's a record. I really liked looking for the cards that matched paper I already had. The pictures are from Meet the Teacher day and First day of school. I can envision my child's school year in an album now. I think this will make my life so much easier and less stressful too. I usually take hours to make one page. With this I just slide the pictures into the pockets and then add a few embellishments along with a journal card. Easy. Fast. Plus I think they turned out great! Oh I don't know if you noticed but I did stamp on some of the paper. I have to include stamping. That's the

Coffee Time!

Image
Wouldn't it be nice to sit down with a friend, drink some coffee and stamp a card? We made this cute coffee cup at my Open House. You could give this to a friend you haven't seen in a while and ask them to meet up for a cup of coffee and to catch up on things. Stamp set is called Perfect Blend (131392). I used Retro Fresh DSP (132993) from the mini catalog. Don't have a catalog yet? Give me a shout and I'll send you one. Thanks for looking and have a blessed day.

I'm back! Update on my life and the new Ornament Kit from Stampin Up!

Image
It has been too long since I updated my blog. I guess I should explain what has been happening in my life. I found out in July that my brother was sick. Very sick. I was worried about him and whether I should fly out to see him and my family. September came and I found out he was in the hospital and they were giving him a year to live. I was waiting to hear more about his condition from family and then in October we found out he only had days to live. I was heartbroken. I was able to talk to my brother before he passed away on Oct. 11. He sounded like he was at peace and told me he was ready. I did fly out for the funeral and spent a week with family and reuniting with extended family as well. One of the highlights was meeting my great nephew for the first time. He is quite the handful but sooo cute. I was also able to attend my great nieces 10th birthday party. I really got to know her and her sister better and felt so blessed that I could be there. They are growing up too fast! Now

Some Punch art: Monsters Inc.

Image
Made this cute card for my friend's daughter. She had a Monsters Inc. Birthday Party. I thought it did come out good if I do say so myself. I did have to do a little cutting with scissors to make the shape right. But for the most part I just used punches. Oval punch, corner punch, circles, word window, heart punch, and of course did some sponging. Thanks for looking!

Masculine Cards

Image
Do you have a hard time coming up with masculine cards? Stampin' Up! has several sets that work great for guy cards. Here's two cards I made using Stampin' Up!   Sets I used are Open Sea and By the Tide. I also used some embossing folders to make the wood piece and added bakers twine to give more dimension.   Oh I really like the new chalk technique. Stamp on Basic Black cardstock with Whisper White ink. Smear a little across the cardstock and it looks like a chalk board.   Email if you want to order the supplies to make this.
