Tag It - helps to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House

This year's stamp set that helps to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House is called Tag It. It's retiring soon! Every stamp set sold Stampin' Up! gives $3 to the Ronald McDonald House Charity. They have given over $1,000,000 to this charity and I am a big supporter of what the Ronald McDonald House does.

This month my Girl Scout Troop decided to help out our local RMH by painting some artwork for them to use in the hallways. We also went there and made dinner for the families staying there. Talking to some of the families we learned about the amazing things that RMH provides. A place to stay that's close to the hospital. A place to wash their clothes, eat meals, use computers, connect with others and feel a sense of comfort and home during their challenging times.

Here's the stamp set below:

Paper Pumpkin Kit - Father's Day!

I love surprises! My Paper Pumpkin is my monthly surprise that I give myself. Every month my red box shows up in the mail and I can't wait to open it and see what's inside. May's kit didn't disappoint.

I love the amazing designs, colors, embellishments, stamps, ink, envelopes and printed paper. I admit that a few of the past Paper Pumpkins left me wondering what was going on with this kit. It's suppose to be a showcase of Stampin' Up! products. A few of the past kits made me think they were running to a Big Box store for supplies. So I wrote to Stampin' Up! about my concerns and they listened. I have to say I'm so impressed now with this subscription that I feel it's worth more than the $19.95 that it costs. I look forward to every month and seeing the amazing product that it includes. One thing they improved most on was the quality of paper. I now feel this is something that is worthy of the Stampin' Up! name. Envelopes and cardstock are thicker and I love the unique stamp sets that you can only get when you sign up for this kit. Plus they are making the kits fit with an upcoming holiday or card making day. Mother's Day last month and this month was Father's Day. Another great thing that they did was make the kits usable for birthday or everyday occasions.

Do you want to sign up and get this wonderful surprise? Visit and make sure to enter my name at the bottom of the form.

Happy Stamping!

Water Color like a pro

This week my class was on watercoloring. I know it's frustrating to figure out the best method for making your cards and scrapbooks look like a water color painting. Here's some basics that you should know about.

Aqua painters give a more watery look. Colors are more muted and transparent.

Blender Pens give the most depth of color but can be tricky to learn to use. Plus you have to keep dipping your blender pen in the ink well.

Regular markers can give quick color but it's not blended very well.

New Blendabilities offer a lot of depth, can be corrected with the color lifter and blending is easy.

Here's the card we made.

I used four colors in the Blendabilities to make the flowers. I first went in with the lightest yellow for the centers, then a dark purple on the edges, followed by the light purple next to that. Finally I used a medium yellow to blend it all together. Awesome!

Here's three flowers done three different ways:

The one on the right is done with aqua painters. The middle one is done with blender pens, and the left one is done with blendabilities. All three used Pumpkin Pie.

Here's a close up of the flowers in the card we did.

I used the stamp set Happy Watercolor  133191. Colors: Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Summer Starfruit.

This stamp set is retiring so if you want to order it let me know.

Thanks for looking!

Blendabilities and water coloring

I have been able to get the new Blendabilities before they are available to customers and I have to say I love them!

Using markers and aqua painters has worked for me to water color images. I love the look of watercolor and enjoy shading and creating depth on my projects. Since I got the blendabilities I am so thrilled with how easy it is to create this depth and shading with just three markers and going over the project until I'm happy with how it looks.

Here's something I did using the different colors and the Poppy background stamp.

I found a blog that describes the new markers much better than I could have so please go visit Linda Heller's blog.

I have a class coming up on Tuesday and I will show how you can watercolor like a pro so I hope you can come.

  Peachy Keen Clear Bundle

Instructions for pop up card are here:

For a standard A2 card (vertical):

Cut cardstock to 7 1/2"x9 1/4". Score at 2 1/8", 4 1/4", 6 3/8" and 8 1/2" on the long side.

Rotate the cardstock to the left. Cut off 2". Cut the 2" strip at 3 5/8" and cut in half lengthwise as above for the inside strips (tabs will be 3/4"). These will go inside the card to make the layers.

On the card base, score at 2 1/2" and cut down to the score lines. Cut down to this score line along each of the 4 perpendicular score lines. At the score line, cut in at a slight angle up from the edge of the cardstock to remove the excess above the score line and create a tab.

Decorate the outside and inside panels. Use sticky strip or the new Fast Fuse to adhere the tabs.

Project Life meets Stampin' Up!

I've been wanting to use this product since I saw it in stores but because of being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator I usually don't buy products I can't sell. Luckily I can now buy and sell Project Life! Stampin' Up! has 5 new kits that will make scrapbooking so easy and quick. I made four pages in an hour. Take a look:

I don't know about you but for me that's a record. I really liked looking for the cards that matched paper I already had. The pictures are from Meet the Teacher day and First day of school. I can envision my child's school year in an album now. I think this will make my life so much easier and less stressful too. I usually take hours to make one page. With this I just slide the pictures into the pockets and then add a few embellishments along with a journal card. Easy. Fast.

Plus I think they turned out great!

Oh I don't know if you noticed but I did stamp on some of the paper. I have to include stamping. That's the fun part. Getting a little ink on my fingers.

If you want to start making easy and quick scrapbook pages here's what you need:
