Dinner and Stampin'!

Image
I had a great time on Tuesday night with a lovely group of ladies stamping and eating. The jalapeno poppers were so delicious! Thanks Carmen! I also enjoyed teaching the ladies about embossing and the new scented embossing powders. We made a watermelon using the stamp set Mouth Watering and the Melon scented powder. Jessica, my daughter, wanted to do a Popsicle and we used the vanilla scented powder for that. Tip: Make sure not to over heat the powder, especially scented powder, or the shine will disappear. I also showed the ladies how to color clear embossing powder. Here's a quick step by step about that: 1.   Ink up the rubber with the Versamark stamp pad. 2.   Ink up the same image next on any color ink pad you want. (I used Pool Party). 3.   Stamp image on Whisper White Cardstock. (Remember to say "Jackie is Great!" 3x) 4.   Then you pour the powder on top of the wet ink making sure to have complete coverage. 5.    Tap off excess powder. 6.    Turn on

Retired Stamp Sets

It's here! The retired list for 2012 Idea Book and Catalog has just been released and I know there are favorites of mine on there. I usually sell the stamp sets that I have after they retire but looking at this list I know I'll hang on to a lot of them because of how much I use them. So check it out and see which sets you want and then come to one of my events or just email me your order. Click here for the list. (You'll have to scroll down once you go the website). You can place orders online too. Visit my website and see what's coming up for my events and also to shop. The Summer Smooches is a great promotion going on right now too so make sure you check it out. Happy Stampin'!

So love this card

Image
I was blog surfing and found this website with so many awesome ideas that I really have to share it with you. Please visit her website at: Seeing Ink Spots Here's her card: She's so talented. I can't wait to try to make this myself. Especially the technique of using the embossing folder in new ways. Love it! Here's a little something I did for my great nephew that was just born. I love this set that is now retired. I can't part with it and I'm glad I haven't. I use it a lot still and on scrapbook pages. Well my busy life is still busy. I have Girl Scout Camporee this weekend and need to get my girls camping gear ready. I also need to prepare for the meeting I'm having tomorrow for it. The girls need to practice their skit and they also need to know how to find items in their day packs. I'm going to hold a drill to see who can find the items I say first. LOL. Should be good. Well the bus is almost home and I need to get the girls

Smells sweet

I've been having fun playing with the scented embossing powders. They really do smell good. I love the Melon one the best I think. At least today. LOL. Here's the card that we made at my team meeting. I used the stamp set Mouthwatering from the mini catalog. I also used the Sweet Cake for the saying. I got this stamp set for free when I recruited Diane. Thanks Diane! I know I used a retired punch but I just thought it looked perfect for the tag. I never get rid of my Stampin' Up! punches. The work great for 1000s of punches and never go out of style. I made the seeds from the heart on the Owl punch. Just punch out two and cut them in half. The colors are Regal Rose, Garden Green and Whisper White. I'm teaching a class on April 17th about using the embossing powders. You don't want to miss this one! Plus I'm making tamales for you all to eat. Yum! Thanks for looking!

Happy Birthday Jessica

I wasn't sure what type of card to make for my daughter for her birthday today so I got out the Stampin' Up! catalog and looked through it with her. We only got to page 13 when she said, "That one with the butterfly!" I said okay and went to work making her card. Only you know I couldn't keep it exactly the same. Here's my card: If you have a catalog take a look and see which one you like better. I hope my baby likes it. Tonight we are going to dinner at her favorite restaurant, Felix's. She loves the crab soup, hearts of palm and Shirley Temples. Mama likes the shotgun shrimp. Burns so good. LOL. Well I have to go get ready for dinner but I wanted to share this with you first. Have a blessed day!
