So much to be thankful for

Image
My Thanksgiving was AWESOME! I had my sister, Linda, come all the way from California to spend the week with me. It was her first time coming to Alabama and she loved it. I think spending a night in New Orleans helped too. Oh and 80 degrees at the beach in Gulf Shores didn't hurt either. LOL.  We had fried turkey and 5 pies. Yum! Friends and family came from far and near. This was the best group shot taken that day. Some of us weren't ready but I look great. LOL. It was Aunt Ginnie's birthday and I wanted to do something special for her. She always hosts Thanksgiving at her house and does so much work to prepare for it. I thought it would be nice to make a special keepsake of the day. So I made a folder with inserts so the guests could sign it. Here's the cover: The inside had a page for the guests to sign in. Then there was a page to write what you were thankful for. The next page was for a special note to Ginnie telling her how much we appreciate her. Her hu

Fall colors are so beautiful so I thought I'd do something with Cajun Craze, Peach Parfait, So Safron and Old Olive. I hope you like it! Start off by putting a bunch of shaving cream in a Tupperware container. Smooth it out so it's sort of flat. Then add drops of re-inker randomly around the surface of the shaving cream. Take a knife or stick and swirl the ink around until it looks how you want it to.  Press your Whisper White paper into the shaving cream until the whole piece is covered in shaving cream. Pull the paper up and scrap off the cream with a knife or

We did it!!!

Stampin' Up! has grown it's number of demonstrators by 10,000 in one year. Isn't that awesome!!! Just think, all those ladies stamping, creating, sharing, having fun, making money. Oh and guys too. Yes, Stampin' Up! does have some talented guys who stamp and scrapbook. Here's the link if you missed it.  Just checked it and saw the newest number. 10,039.    2 of those are mine. LOL.  Actually 4 of them since Linda and Jeannette joined this year too. I can't wait to see what all my Turtles do with their starter kits. We'll have to have a show and tell.

10 in 10! We're almost there!

Here's a link to the website doing the tally for Stampin' Up! We're so close to getting 10,000 new recruits in 2010. I'm happy to say that a friend of mine joined last night. I also have several others joining my team. We're called the Totally Turtles. :) I love Turtles so I'm gonna love all my new recruits. I think of you guys as my family. Can't wait to start off the new year with all of you! Here's some fun things I made for my Girl Scout troop. Okay Francesca made them. LOL.  (Thanks girl!) Still gotta pack for my camping trip with the girls tonight. Plus I'm meeting a lady today who wants to join Stampin' Up! So awesome! I will post more later. Have a great weekend!

I'm here!

Sorry about the long absence but I was painting the walls of my livingroom. Totally looks good now! No more hand prints! Yeah!!! At least for a couple hours. LOL. I've been making some fun things lately. Here's a picture of the card I made one night. I was inspired by a print I saw on the wall of a restaurant. I need to add a sentiment but not sure if it's a birthday, thank you or sympathy. I hope I don't need that last one but it's always good to have one on hand. My canvas display board class was good. Here's what the ladies made. Carla came up with the pockets. I had her make some for Jessica's board.  Now Amanda wants some added to hers too. I haven't finished Jessica's board yet. I made one for Amanda and I posted it on my facebook page. If you haven't friended me yet please do! Here's what my friend Birgit gave me when I was over at her house last time. She is so talented! She also gave my girls these really cute little

Let's get creative at night

Image
Okay so I'm not a totally prepared person most of the time but I do like to have everything ready the night before. So I came up with this card for my workshop tomorrow. What do you think? Do you want to make this card at your workshop? Let me know and we'll set you up! Super easy and simple. I love it! I have everything cut and ready to go. It only took me 1/2 hour from start to finish. Yeah! Added the ribbon at the last minute. I just needed to add a little material in there. Ya know. Okay off to bed I go.

Fun on the Battleship

Image
Well my two girls and I survived sleeping on the Battleship Friday night. It wasn't nearly as cold as I was expecting it to be. They actually have heaters on the ship. The bunks are three high and my girls didn't roll out of them. Phew! Aparently I talk in my sleep though. Those ear plugs I brought really worked good. LOL.  Here's my troop standing in front of the Battleship waiting to get on. The girls were so excited! So was mama! LOL.  Here's a picture of Amanda and Jessica: The troops participated in necklace making, tatoos, eating pizza and making cards for the Veterans.  Here's what my two girls did: I have to say they are pretty talented! LOL.  Look how Jessica made the shape of America with the flag in it. AWESOME! I did a little something for the troops this weekend. I normally just have my Christmas Card Stamp a Stack but Jeannette and Flora are really into sending cards to the troops and they said the next cards they need are Valentine's

Fall is here!

Image
Here's my new Fall Banner I made. I really can't take credit for it since I got the idea from Kimberly. Click here  to see her banner. Close up of the letters: I used: Waffle paper, sewing machine, vintage brads, Very Vanilla CS, Pumpkin Pie CS, Old Olive CS, two step bird punch, oh and some suede paper that totally matches our colors! The little clothes pin and twine are from the Mini Catalog. It's the countdown to Christmas box kit. I love it because you can use the items in it for other things too. Hope you enjoy this beautiful fall weather we are having. My girls and I are sleeping on the USS Alabama. It's a Battleship in our bay and it's going to be awesome! I'll post pictures later this weekend. We're also in a Veteran's Day Parade tomorrow. Busy, busy, busy. LOL. Don't forget the Christmas card class this Sunday! I have a few ladies coming so it should be fun. Plus we're making Valentine's Day Cards for the troops. Join me

Let the Thanksgiving Decor begin!

Image
Okay, Here's an easy, fast project to get the house looking ready for Fall. Make several of these little pumpkins and put them around the house and you'll have an instant Thanksgiving Ambiance. Here's how to make these: Start with strips of Designer Series paper in the color you like. I chose Pumpkin Pie of course. My strips are 6" x 1". The more you have the more filled in your pumpkin will be. Then you gather them together and punch a hole in each end with the Crop-o-dile.  Secure the ends with brads. I used the glimmer brads from the mini catalog. Then you bend the paper into a "c" and start fanning them out. When you get the pumpkin to look how you want you can add some curled paper and leaves. Here's a centerpiece for the table: Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving season!

Who is sad that Halloween is over?

Image
Me, me, me! Oh well. I know that this is the day of putting away the fun and spooky Halloween decorations. I know I can start to put out the fall decorations. But I'm just sad to see my Halloween creations be packed up for a whole year, only to come out again next year. I love the pumpkins I made. I love the framed art I made. I love the spooky house I made. Sigh. Oh well. Oh I do get to test if the rub-ons can be reused or not. I put a few on the wall and I need to peel them off. I'll try putting them on something to see if they'll stick. Check back later for more on this. Here's something to show you in the meantime.  We made this at the Big Shot Class on Wednesday. I used the Matchbox Die plus the Decorative Label Punch. I like the antique brads too. Super fun! I'm going to make a bunch of these for Thanksgiving as a name place holder. Here's another fun project I made using the Big Shot: I was holding onto this die for a long time without actual
